Culver scrambling after top star seriously injured

Colby Armstrong hurt, where is the justice?

The City Wings season had been running along fairly smoothly until ...

D. CLEARY San (HOOKING, Minor, Game Misconduct) 05:54

Cleary's 14 minutes in penalties and deliberate hooking with intent to injure, ended up with Colby being out of action for a very long time. He currently sits with a CD of under 60, and is reduced to sitting and signing autographs

He is unable to do much else, and with current league rules, Culver cannot do much else either. There is no recourse for a suspension appeal at this time. Surely, this is a poor message to send out to the league, that your young stars can be viciously attacked without worry of retribution.

Culver was close to making a trade which would have seen them land Dman Wade Redden, and Jason Blake moving to Montreal, however with Army out , someone has to step in and pick up the slack, namely Blake. So, the City Wings have their hands tied and will have to focus at winning without Colby. I highly doubt the team will go out and hire a goon just to play this dirty little game.

The question GMs should ask themselves is who's next? What star will be on a team's radar to take out?

Oh Sidney, you might want to keep your head up!
